Writing for Income Without Spending

Writing for income on the web is totally feasible in this day and age. You don't even have to invest any money to get started. The key is knowing what websites will pay for your writing or allow you to earn money through them. I'm providing you with a list of some websites I know of that do this and give you an idea of how each one works.

One of the more popular websites that numerous writers and bloggers take advantage of is Helium. You don't have to have a bachelor's degree in English or journalism to make money from this writing website. You basically create articles and earn residual income based upon how much traffic your pages get. As with any online web publishing opportunity, the more traffic, the better. Helium also expects you to rate or rank the content of other writers. The higher your articles get rated, the more money you will earn. It's that simple and it's free to join.

Associated Content is another freelance writing opportunity. As a writer, you can submit original content to them and have it published online for an upfront payment, which commonly amounts to $10 or less. They claim to pay up to $20 per article, but this doesn't seem so common. On the bright side, you can submit an article to Associated Content non-exclusively and use the same piece elsewhere if you like. On the downside, if you do so, AC will likely pay you less money for it upfront. This writing community additionally offers a passive residual earning program that allows writers to continually make more from their articles. To keep it short, this amounts to $1.50 per 1000 page views. AC pays its writers through PayPal.

Constant Content pays freelance writers to write original articles. As a writer, you basically submit your work to the site in order to be purchased. More than likely it will be purchased by a web publisher that's looking to expand their website or blog with some fresh content. Fortunately you get to determine how much the article will sell for and if you're selling it exclusively to a particular individual. This website earns by taking a percentage of the sales. Constant Content also provides topics that are in demand. These can pay greater amounts, depending upon the popularity of the topic.

PrintNPost.com takes a different approach to web publishing and blogging for a passive residual income. Like the previous three website I mentioned, PrintNpost costs you nothing to sign up. However, you will need a free Google Adsense account if you wish to earn an income from your writing. While this website does not offer you any upfront payments for your articles and blogs, you can certainly earn from them. Essentially you sign up, write something, submit it, and then it gets published with Google ads automatically placed on the web page. Obviously this makes the process of web publishing very simple for writers. You earn when interested readers click on the Google ads. This money goes directly into your Adsense account. PrintNPost never takes a percentage of your earnings. The website owner earns from the Google ads on the home page.

There are other websites and online writing communities that allow you to write and earn, but these are four that I've had experiences with. Overall I prefer web communities such as PrintNPost.com simply because they allow you to earn from your writing without spending anything, but they do not take a percentage of what you do earn. As a freelance writer, I feel that this is the best long-term opportunity. Your pages get published and indexed with major search engines, which allows you to earn as long as they remain in cyberspace. Furthermore, there's no one taking the majority of what you earn. In the end, it's all about writing for income for yourself and not for someone else.
