Traffic to Websites and Blogs

Traffic, traffic, traffic! You can truly never have too much traffic to your blogs or web pages. After all, this is what so many web publishers, bloggers and writers strive to acquire. This is plain and simply due to the fact that more traffic commonly means more ad revenue or affiliate sales. But, how do you build that traffic?

While some folks will tell you that building a quality website or blog is the tough part of earning money online, I must disagree. If you can type and have knowledge to offer the public, then you can create a blog or web page fairly easily. The free software offered these days does most of the work for you. Unfortunately getting substantial amounts of traffic is not so easy. You have to do this part on your own.

A couple things that every writer or blogger should know about writing for income online is that titles and keywords matter. This is a major aspect of acquiring traffic. So regardless of your niche, you want to come up with titles that reflect your content and always incorporate great keywords. In the end, nothing beats original content that’s well written with the right keywords. As some web publishing gurus say, content is king!

Another aspect of traffic involves networking. If you really plan to write for income online by creating blogs and web pages, then you need to network. This can be tackled in several different ways. One of the most common methods of building traffic is by leaving posts on other web pages and forums that are related to your own work. Leave behind a response that draws attention and makes people want to visit your sites. Let the world know you have something substantial to offer. Just be sure you leave a link to your website or blog behind too. Taking advantage of free directories is also wise. There are several of these that allow you to submit your web pages (URLs) for free.

Don’t dismiss those basic networking websites like Myspace.com, Facebook and Hi5. You should be leaving links to your websites and blogs all over these. At least put a link in your main profile for everyone to see. This way when you build up your friends list, many people will have access to your web pages. It’s all about traffic coming in from all different directions. The more traffic, the more residual income you’ll earn.
